Updates and Possible Portfolio Pieces

All if these are possible portfolio pieces and all are WIP. Some just have to have added assets, some need updated textures, some need to be posed, and some need whole bodies. I have two Leventeps because one is in Maya and the other Zbrush. Firefighter will be a full body sculpt when I am done.

Centaur Update2

Still Zbrushing. I got her spikes in and experienced a major technical difficulty. We figured out a work around but the original file is still a grey silhouette that I can't edit. So after a day of trying to get that fixed:

I'll update it later tonight. I'll also update my Fairy Trio later tonight as well and possibly my firefighter. If you don't see those tonight, you'll definitely see them on Tuesday.

Edit due to combinations of crappy internet and zbrush corrupting files. The fire fighter probably won't be posted until later tonight. =C He was looking really good too. Now I have to go back and redo about 6 hours of work. ::fingers crossed:: he'll be posted today.

Centaur Update

So it's going pretty well. I'm starting to do some detailing. Still trying to figure out her hair, scales for her head, and back. I started to add spikes but Zbrush crashed.

So starting from scratch with those again. I plan on having this finished this weekend as well as a redo of my firefighter. I'm going to a Zbrush sculpt.

Pirate Lady FInal

So I decided to challenge myself and only create a color map and create the specularity and ambient using maya shaders. So here are the final renders of the pirate lady.

Fairy Trio!

So I fell in love with some characters that I saw in one of the classes I TA for. I asked the group if I could model their characters, and they let me! The Strawberry Fairy was designed by Bryan Westberry; the Grape Fairy was designed by Rodney James; and the Cherry Fairy was designed by John Nguyen.

They are completely modeled, but I might go back and fix a couple of things. I plan on having at least two of them textured by Wednesday.

BIG UPDATE O' DOOM

Hello everyone! I'm going to be messing with the layout and design for the next few weeks. So expect lots and lots of changes!

I'm currently modeling and animating a cyborg pirate. I was wanting to do a cybernetic mermaid but the requirements were bipedal characters so that will have to be a personal project later on.

I'm also working on a creature called "Cactus Cat" which has an extremely interesting back story ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cactus_cat ). It was originally designed as a quadruped but had to be adapted as a biped for my prototyping class. So finalized art for the quad should be posted soon. I'm really not liking the biped version =/

I'm animating my Worker Ant model for my motion capture class. I'm planning on going back and redoing the textures and zbrushing it.

This past weekend I participated in the Global Game Jam. Here's the link to our game: http://globalgamejam.org/2011/supermegaturbox64box

The goal was to create a game from scratch in 48 hours. I did the art for the Pikachu and Link knock off. Julee did Megaman, Samus, and Sonic. Alyson worked on Mario and Star Fox. Justin worked on the sound effects. And we had some awesome programmers, BG artist, and music. As soon as I get other people's blogspots and websites I'll post links to them. They were totally awesome and I hope that I'll get to work with them again one day.

Well, until next time!
